The Patients 2.0 Session at the Health 2.0 Conference in San Francisco is an empowering event.
Kudos to Jane Sarasohn-Kahn for chairing this session so empathically. Question posed by Lygeia Ricciardi asked the question "What can consumers do to pledge to Put the I in Health IT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0XTCHekghc This was my attempt to drive Consumer empowerment.
The Society of Participatory Medicine has developed a seal for providers that practice Participatory Medicine: 4 criteria: 1. Proactively provide access to you health data.
2. Encourage feedback from patients (including a mechanism for anonymous feedback)
3. Participatory Providers will have a Patient Council to review and provide feedback
4. Participatory Providers wil give resources with every diagnosis.
